the library on a public holiday is surely peaceful. most of the tables are empty, but the hot seats are still being occupied, like they always are. on this Deepavali morning, i sat at my usual spot: at the right corner of the end of the library, behind rows and rows of bookshelves that are 1.5 times taller than me. the usual chatters and giggles that are annoyingly loud and distracting were all absent. the 'click-clack-click-clack' of high heels weren't here today, too. they probably all gone to the shopping malls already, or somewhere else cooler. at the bottom of the pole few metres in front of me, my cellphone is charging now. as for me, i am sticking my nose at a pile of p2 notes.
for the first time in the four months, i found peace at the 3rd floor of this big orange building.
