the unofficial 'about me'

i am yihshin, and i'm from planet Earth.


i found myself rather mediocre, a very typical Chinese girl - small eyes, flat nose, short etc. i am lazy, slightly retarded, passive, emotional, pessimistic, long-winded, reckless, indecisive, irresponsible, clumsy and... (running out of vocabulary). i'm a typical Taurus, conservative, possessive and pigheadedly stubborn.

i use my right hand to write, hold badminton racket/remote control/mouse, but i use my left hand to answer phone calls, hold chopsticks/colour pencils/scissors/knife/cup/keys etc. Are you confused? nevermind, I use both hands to play the piano :)

they said when God closes a door, somewhere He opens a window. i pretty much agreed with this. i'm not good in sports at all, but i can swim... i suck in art, but i love stitching. i couldn't sing, but i enjoy playing the piano. that aside, i'm really good in spoiling things (did not do it on purpose tho), procrastinating, remembering directions of places, remembering names and texting.

sometimes when I'm not emo, i actually laugh out really loud.

i love photography, music, food, books, more books, beaches, teddy bears, my family, my pet turtle, ducks  and Milo. i dislike thunders, smokers, dogs, cats, snakes, slow internet connection, packed trains/buses, traffic jam and poeple who is late. I suck in saying no to reject people.

my greatest ambition is to become a gypsy/globetrotter one day.

i began to blog when i was 17 or 18 in MSN space. i named my blog My Metamorphosis, as it is the snippet of my life, and the record of my transformation, from a teen, until i grow older (that's if only i have the determination to keep on writing). another reason that i chose "metamorphosis" is because i discovered the similarities between me and the caterpillar: both of us are fat and unattractive XD. BUT somehow, both of us are waiting for our metamorphosis, to be transformed into something wonderful, a butterfly, a better person. i’m sooo optimistic rite??   (young, stupid days)

currently morphed to an anti-social postgrad student who likes doughnuts and domokun. Lavender Muffin sounded yummy and tasty and it makes me happy. what? haven't you heard that women are fickle-minded and inconstant?  (2009-2010)


i am now a work and holiday visa holder in Australia!!! this is by far the most courageous thing i've ever done and i'm happy to have melbourne as my temporary home.. :) no one could resist the city that has been voted as one of the most livable cities in the world, i love melbourne very much! weather could be a bit crazy though, as fickle as women but that's what makes melbourne unique. i work in a shanghainese-owned cafe as a helper. i am also a novice barista (latte? flat white or me? XD) i know i could be sitting comfortably in an air-conditioned office doing a repetitive corporate cubicle job instead of this physically intensive job. but the whole experience is just different and i just had to do this for myself or i would regret. i'm glad i did. because it is an unforgettable journey. :)  (Aug-Nov, 2010)

i am now a boring auditor who wears formal to work from monday to thursday. i'm underpaid, piled up with never ending work and feeling stressed out frequently. i don't have insomnia anymore, i fall asleep quickly everynight because work is tiring. i also never brought my camera out to shoot random things anymore after i started to work. but i'm proud of my lightning-fast typing speed. and i like that my office is in CBD - i never got bored of people watching.
