and so, here we are

finally went to malacca last weekend. 9 out of 10 people that i talked to told me malacca is boring.

me: yay!!!! i'm finally going to malacca next week!
a: malacca is so boring. the food are so so.
me: guess what?? i'm going to malacca on next saturday!!
b: i went there once and never wanted to go back anymore. malacca sucks.

well, i think malacca is such a quaint place. i love it. i would describe it as a rare gem of our country. apart from the historical buildings which serve as the evidence of the Dutch and Portuguese occupation, that we've read about for uncountable times in our history textbooks, the whole place is so unique itself - rows and rows of well-preserved old streets, the faint smell of decay, dust from the buildings and elders who cycle along the street in a very slow and steady pace. it is like walking into a real history book. everytime we turned into another street, i would ask myself, it this even real?? well, at least the parking lots, carbon dioxide emitted by proton wiras and myvi-s are very real.

among the popular must eats, only 2 of them managed to capture my heart (or tongue?): the chicken rice ball and mille crepe. i thought cendol and satay celup was just okay.

said chicken rice balls. so addicting and tasty.

said mille crepe. the cakes are moist, spongy, semi-dense and the aroma is just perfect. *drools*

best caption i could think of: why aren't you here yet?

then again, if u define fun and travel as shopping, more shopping, huge malls, skyscrappers, hot chicks and cool dudes, then malacca might be really boring for you.

so... what's next?
